HIGHWAY 610

CURRENT PROJECT

This project will extend Highway 610 three miles west of Highway 169 to County Road 81 through the northwestern Metro suburbs thereby improving neighborhood safety by diverting vehicles from heavily traveled local roads.

Funded in part by American Recovery and Reinvestment Act stimulus money, the $47.8 million project will include construction of two interchanges, three highway bridges, noise walls, a pedestrian bridge, roundabouts, and bus-only shoulders. One-half mile of the new highway will run between the existing eastbound and westbound lanes of County Road 81 forming a roadway within a roadway.

Completion is scheduled for November 2011.
