Mall of America

In an effort to improve the safety and convenience of pedestrians visiting the Mall of America, this nearly $17 million dollar Lindau Lane improvement project was designed to allow pedestrians to travel overhead from the Mall to the parking area, bypassing the traffic below.

Owner: City of Bloomington

Location: Bloomington, MN

Contract Value: $16,806,862

Extensive grading on Lindau Lane as well as two side streets, 22nd Avenue S. and Ikea Way was performed during improvement work in this area.  Prior to the start of this project, two summers worth of utility relocations were required. Nine retaining walls were constructed to hold the soil in place as a result of the extensive grading taking place on Lindau Lane to accommodate the overhead bridge. The newly constructed overhead bridge figures to be used heavily by a considerable portion of the $35-40 million annual visitors to the Mall of America.
