Earthwork

Earthwork is a core discipline in civil construction, and with the use of GPS technology paired with experienced operators running a state-of-the-art fleet of equipment that is tailored to the needs of various project scopes and sizes, C. S. McCrossan is able to provide a safe work site with a product that is built to last.

With our proven ability to provide expertise in earthwork we have become a trusted partner for developers, city planners, designers and landscape architects for their most demanding projects. In addition to the earthwork required for highway and road construction projects, we also perform civil construction work for site development projects of all sizes.

Underground Utilities

Below the ground surface lives a complex network of pipe infrastructure that delivers fresh water, conveys wastewater, and drains stormwater to and from our communities 24/7. Our skilled teams are dedicated to delivering underground solutions that meet the highest standards of safety, durability, and performance. We build, maintain, and repair the invisible backbone of our neighborhoods using best practices, innovative solutions, and state of the art equipment and technology.

Bridges and Structures

We have many years of experience constructing durable and innovative bridges, dams, tunnels, noise walls, MSC retaining walls, traffic barrier, and other reinforced concrete structures. Our team of skilled engineers and project managers utilize cutting-edge technology and industry best practices to deliver projects that meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, quality, and aesthetics

Bituminous Paving

Asphalt paving has been a core business of C. S. McCrossan since the company began in 1956. Our experienced crews complete highway and local road paving projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality. Materials are supplied from our MnDOT-certified asphalt production plant located in Maple Grove, that also has the capacity to accommodate the needs of other public agencies.

Transit Infrastructure

C. S. McCrossan’s transit construction experience ranges from small rehabilitation to large scale complex public transit projects. Due to our experience and expertise in transit construction and our long standing relationships with local government agencies, Minnesota Department of Transportation, the Metropolitan Airports Commission, and the Metropolitan Council our transit projects run smoothly and efficiently.

We have experience building airport runways, tunnels, bus stations, and light rail transit in addition to general public infrastructure such as highways, bridges, storm water and sewer systems.

Material Supply

We produce aggregate, crushed rock, and granular material from over 700 acres of mining land in Maple Grove and Elk River, Minnesota and Kingman, Arizona. This allows us to locally supply product to our projects, vertically integrate with our Maple Grove asphalt plant, and also sell rock and asphalt materials to other contractors and public agencies. Our Maple Grove facility also recycles over 150,000 tons of asphalt, concrete, and other rubble each year, extending our natural resources and providing for environmental sustainability.
